COMMUNITY BENEFITING FROM BYPASS ROADS

some years ago, there was poor construction of by-pass roads in the locations, towns and cities.

Condition of the roads make pedestrians and motorist delaying reaching destination.

Malawi government showing its interest in this bypass roads has brought gratitude to the road users.

Kanjedza-Chinyonga bypass road is one of the roads which is being constructed to ease the congestion in the highway.

Fortune Kafuzira a student at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) residing in private hostels in Chinyonga express his gratitude over the new road constructed.

“As a student I have benefited because now I can reach the campus without any traffic jams,” Kafuzira says.

He further says the problem of missing morning classes because of long queue is now solved."

Gabriel M’dyamizu, a minibus driver expresses his satisfaction over the newly constructed road as he is able to use shortcut to connect with highway from Chichiri to Limbe.

“Nowadays we can reach passengers in time because this by pass roads are shorter than using highway,” M’dyamizu says.

He added that passengers are increasing because some people live near the road like MUBAS students hence making more profits than before.

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Jacob Hara says the roads constructed should withstand all weather patterns.

He further says government is engaging engineers to come up with designs that will situate where the bypass road will be meeting a main road.

  6. The development will aid in transportation and thereby increasing buzness activity within the locations , this will consequently contribute to an improved economy since it will encourage small scale production of goods and services.the durability of the roads will also save the government from spending on the roads now and then resulting into an improved economic status
